Organized Finances
Being disorganized wastes time and space, but if we are disorganized in our finances, it can waste a lot of money, too. Staying on top of financial matters can save bank fees, late fees, and interest charges.
If you are in the habit of waiting for the bill to come in and then losing it before the next paycheck comes in, you may already know how expensive that can get.
There are many ways to organize your finances--from budget software and complicated spreadsheets to fairly simple lists of regular bills that you cross off each month as they are paid. Some people write the check immediately and then date the outside of the envelope (where the stamp will go) to mail it before the due date but after payday. Any method that gets everything paid in a timely manner is alright. You just need to find one that works for you.
Whatever you do, when you write out a budget, take some extra time to think it through and be very careful not to forget anything.
